New permanent role for Infrastructure Analyst within desirable EDI-based organisation:
The purpose of this role is to provide 2/3 level infrastructure support and act as an escalation point for the Service Desk. The key focus of this role will be around server technologies and storage platforms both on premise and in the cloud. Where required, the role also engages with external support partners as an escalation point, where you will be expected to work closely to identify the issue and put measures in place to resolve whilst managing the expectations of the business throughout.
Responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Analyst you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

Provide 2/3-line infrastructure support in Edinburgh and remote sites globally.

Identify and resolve technical issues in line with business requirements and agreed SLA’s

Proactively monitor the environment and highlight any deviations following business process to mitigate risk to the firm

Undertake analysis of current and proposed systems and technologies and report findings and recommendations where applicable

Work with the project teams and other technical areas to deliver new technologies
-
Ensure process documentation is kept updated and accurate, and that any new documentation is created as required.

Microsoft Infrastructure/Cloud Certified (desirable)

VMware Certified (VCP-DCV) (desirable)

Experience and Knowledge:-
Required skills:

Previous and extensive experience in a 2nd /3rd line Infrastructure support focused role

Strong skills supporting Microsoft Windows Server OS 2016/2019

Excellent understanding of Active Directory/Group Policy/DHCP/DNS/PKI
-
Excellent understanding of VMWare vSphere Infrastructure technologies
-
Experience supporting various server hardware and enterprise storage technologies, preferably Dell EMC.

Strong technical knowledge and experience supporting Cloud technologies such as Azure, Exchange Online and 0ffice 365.

An understanding of enterprise monitoring solutions, such as SolarWinds
-
In depth understanding of ITIL and IT processes, including incident, problem and change management
-
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
