Sara Harrison and Angela McCann of Hamilton Forth Scotland had a fantastic day at this year’s Women in Tech Scotland event.
The event, which is in its second year, was well orchestrated with great insights from an array of highly qualified and successful female leaders and the right mix of large corporates, start-ups and specialists.
The team particularly enjoyed hearing from Clare Reid from PWC and understanding ‘The Tech She Can Charter’ and the extremely passionate and genuine Rebecca Moore from Skyscanner highlighting that Work and Life commitments can exist harmoniously – some of the time!
Key themes included AI as a key driver of digital transformation, understanding Big Data and creating value from it and Cybersecurity trends influencing society. There were plenty of discussions around building successful career paths and being ‘comfortable with your uncomfortable’. An all-round great day.

Hamilton Forth’s Rachel Sim recently attended “Moving Beyond Brexit: The Future of the Scottish Tech Sector” at the University of Glasgow within the School of Computing Science.
With the growth of the IoT and machine learning, and policies such as GDPR demanding accountability, the amount of data and data sources collected by organisations has grown exponentially. Consultant, Rachel Sim discusses how this data can be invaluable when it comes to decision making, and why businesses should consider developing a data strategy.
Livingston James Group is delighted to be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support with its Longest Day Golf Challenge. During the challenge, participants play 72 holes of golf in one day – a demanding task – and any donations would be greatly appreciated for this great cause.
