Description

Hamilton Forth is delighted to be partnering with a leading financial services organisation in Glasgow to appoint a Programme Director.

Our clients is seeking a highly experienced individual to provide executive direction and leadership in the delivery of several exciting projects. In executing this the Programme Director, acting through the established project teams, stakeholders and business structures, will oversee the delivery of projects and deliver control and governance throughout the teams. The role will require multi-faced responsibilities across programme delivery including leadership and mentoring the project managers  workstreams.

The role:

  • Establish the governance structure, develop the resourcing plan and budgets for the programmes
  • Work with delivery teams and other senior stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of projects
  • Work with other Programme Directors to understand and mitigate other programme dependencies
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for Managers as well as sharing best practices
  • Contribute ideas/recommendations for improvement of the Change team’s operating model
  • Proactively identify and manage risks and provide advice, guidance and insight on resolving issues
  • Provide support on other matters, e.g. cost / benefit analyses
  • Provide “hands on support” where appropriate to drive programme deliverables
  • Create and provide regular reporting on progress against plans to management, project sponsors and steering committees
  • Coordinate with global change teams as necessary on global initiatives

Essential:

  • Previous programme management experience
  • Experience with business change projects/programmes
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver strategic business transformation programmes.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders up to board level
  • Proven leadership skills to successfully motivate large and diverse teams
  • End to end programme management experience, from initiation to benefit realisation
  • Experience of mobilising, structuring and generating momentum for new change programmes
  • Experience in understanding and managing dependencies across a complex change and run environment
  • Able to act as a business advocate with strong communication and influencing skills
