Hamilton Forth Partners with Award Winning Wholesaler J.W. Filshill

Hamilton Forth is delighted to be partnering with award-winning wholesalers, J.W. Filshill, to bring to market a newly created Data Manager position.

The company was a confectionery manufacturer for 55 years before they opened their first Cash and Carry operation, which quickly developed into a delivered goods business in the 1960s. As was the case with many manufacturing industries, costs became prohibitive and they decided to pull out of manufacturing to concentrate on the Cash and Carry and delivered wholesale businesses.

J.W. Filshill moved to their current premises in Hillington in 1994 and have expanded the warehouse twice since then. Their total workforce now exceeds 200 people.

J.W. Filshill have remained a family business and have had a rapid expansion in the last twenty years. With a turnover in excess of £200 million, they now have over 1600 retail Cash and Carry and Delivered Goods customers. In addition, the company services a number of wholesalers and has several national accounts including the Scottish Prison Service.

J.W. Filshill’s achievements over the past 140 years have been considerable, but they have always believed in looking ahead to the next development, and the next level of success – something the Data Manager will contribute to significantly.

As J.W. Filshill prepares to move to its new premises in Renfrew, they are continuing to explore future revenue opportunities. J.W. Filshill has a wealth of data available to them, but more could be done to utilise it to shape business decisions. The role of Data Manager is a newly created position within the organisation, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to mould the future of the organisation and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.

Working alongside the skills already within Filshill, this role will help develop a modern cloud-based data toolkit and platform to allow the company to meet its future data-related objectives.
