Alistair Shaw

Director

Senior Technology

Alistair is Managing Director of Hamilton Forth, our specialist search and selection practice focused exclusively on technology and transformation appointments. He has 20 years’ experience in recruitment, partnering with some of the world’s best-known brands to build successful leadership teams. Previously MD of Hudson Scotland, Ali has built a strong network of contacts and is passionate about D&I. He sees his role as an important one in which he can support organisations to develop authentic diversity initiatives by appointing the best modern leaders. He is also a trusted advisor to Scottish Development International’s inward investment team and has supported many organisations looking to set up their global business services in Scotland.

Josh Moreland

DevOps and Software Engineering

Josh has specialised in the IT sector for the last decade – initially in Dublin and, since 2010, in supporting clients and candidates in central Scotland with project-driven technical resourcing solutions. He has worked across a range of businesses; engaging with large FTSE and blue-chip multi-nationals, through to SMEs, start-ups and public-sector clients. He has worked in scoping and shaping technical turnkey programmes of work as well as providing talent augmentation solutions across a raft of industries and locations. Josh has a diverse client-base with initiatives underpinned by digital transformation, software engineering and robust cloud and virtual architecture. He has a deep understanding of the software development market in Scotland and his far-reaching network allows him to attract and retain top talent.

Atif Hussain

Atif has over 8 years of technology recruitment experience gained across a range of industries and sectors. He has developed expert level knowledge of the tech market in Scotland and his relationship-led approach has made him the consultant of choice for many organisations and candidates. He is well-versed in recruiting in both contract and permanent markets. Atif’s academic background in Marketing combined with a deep understanding of the market has allowed him to assist many organisations to develop meaningful value propositions to increase brand awareness. Professionalism, excellence and trust are core to Atif’s approach to helping his clients and candidates achieve their goals.

Kirsty Sim

Head of Research

Kirsty is Head of Research for Livingston James Group. Kirsty leads all research activities including market mapping, talent mapping, international search and candidate attraction. Kirsty is also our trained in-house psychometric assessor.

Kirsty works closely with Consultants and Clients to understand exactly what is required and build a robust and targeted plan for how to source and attract high calibre individuals. Over seven years in the recruitment industry, she has worked across a range of sectors and specialisms, primarily at executive level.

Passionate about understanding people, what motivates them and how they can reach their potential most effectively, Kirsty studied MA Psychology at the University of Aberdeen. She has since completed further training in Occupational Ability and Personality testing and is a member of the British Psychological Society.

Outside of work, Kirsty has a passion for food and drink, particularly Scottish produce. She promotes local restaurants and businesses and shares homemade recipes through her food blog, Pancakes and Polaroids. Kirsty is also a fan of the countryside and escapes to the outdoors when she can, trying her hand at some (very) amateur photography.

Amy Ferguson​

Amy Ferguson

Research Associate

Amy joined Livingston James Group in 2020 as a Research Associate to support all research activities including market mapping, talent mapping, international search and candidate attraction.

After completing an HR internship at a global drinks company and working in Student Recruitment whilst studying at the University of Aberdeen, she knew she wanted to be in a people focused role. Amy is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and helping individuals to achieve their career goals.

Amy graduated with MA (Hons) in Business Management and Spanish from the University of Aberdeen and spent a year teaching English in Madrid as part of her degree. When she returned to Scotland, she was heavily involved in the Go Abroad Team within the university and supporting students to optimise their time studying abroad.

In her free time, Amy supports young people studying Spanish at high school level by sharing her love of the language and culture. She enjoys keeping active by playing volleyball and going to the gym, is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Lucy Joss

Group Administrative Coordinator

Lucy is our Group Administrative Coordinator and provides full support to all consultants across our Group’s three specialist brands (Livingston James, Rutherford Cross and Hamilton Forth), involving a vast range of duties from document formatting to compliance monitoring.

Lucy started her recruitment support career in 2018 in a local recruitment agency in Aberdeen before relocating to the central belt to join Livingston James Group. Lucy knew she wanted to work in an office support role and fell in love with the variety and fast-paced nature of the support role within recruitment specifically. Lucy is passionate about providing a high level of quality support to her colleagues to allow them to carry out their roles with ease.

Lucy achieved an HND in Public Relations and Advertising before pausing her studies to travel Australia. On her return she secured her previous role in recruitment, leading her to continue to learn and develop within her administrative career.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys exploring the large variety of coffee shops and restaurants Glasgow and Edinburgh have to offer. As well as this, she often spends weekends visiting her hometown of Aberdeen to see her nieces and nephews and her little dog, Poppy.
