Hamilton Forth’s Annual Salary Guide

Check out Hamilton Forth’s annual salary review for technology compensation across Scotland in 2022.

This information has been captured via a variety of primary and secondary sources and covers a huge raft of job families typically found within the technology and change functions of Scottish businesses. From a general commentary perspective, we’ve seen a few trends which may be noticed in the survey:

  • Salaries have, for the most part, steadily increased across technology skillsets – with some of the biggest climbs noticeable across software engineering, cyber and dev/ops skillsets
  • An increase in interim / contract hiring in the Scottish tech ecosystem has continued despite the uncertain macroeconomic variables – including Brexit, Covid-19, changes to IR35 taxation and concerns over offshoring models
  • Base salaries for junior hires have increased by some of the highest percentages, suggesting that businesses see value in investing in talent early, with a view of retaining tech workforces and creating a career plan for individuals rather than looking to hire experienced heads

Many thanks to the various businesses and individuals who have helped put this together. For all our clients and candidates who’d like to discuss the talent market, please get in touch today for a confidential discussion.
